Brief About the "Khushi Scheme"

A part of the women empowerment initiative by the state government of Odisha launched the scheme in the year 2018 “Khushi”. Under this scheme, it was decided to provide free sanitary napkins to school girls in the state of Orisha.
This scheme is to be implemented under Odisha state’s “Health and Family Welfare Department”.

Cost of the scheme: 70 crores (700 million INR)/year.
Girls population covered the “Khushi Scheme”: 1.7 million girls
This scheme is applicable to government and government-aided schools.
