PARIVESH - Context and Background

PARIVESH is the progressive web-based single window system, developed to ease the clearance (Environment, Forest, Wildlife, and CRZ clearance) of entrepreneurs. This automated system takes care of submission, clearance, and monitoring, the prototype of the system is already implemented by Central Govt. This Single-Window Integrated Environment Management System has been established in pursuance of the “Digital India” initiative started by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. The objective is to deploy the framework/groundwork “Minimum Government and Maximum Governance”

Key Features of PARIVESH

  • It is the workflow-based application for online submission, and monitoring of governance of the proposal submitted by the project promoter to the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authorities (SEIAA) and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC).

Parivesh stands for (Pro-Active and Responsive facilitation by Interactive, Virtuous, and Environmental Single-window Hub).
  • It helps to obtain various clearances (e.g. Coastal Regulation Zone Clearances, Environment, Forest and Wildlife) from the district, state, and central government.
  • The PARIVESH ecosystem has been developed and looked after by MOEFCC, with technical support from National Informatics Centre (NIC). It is a single sign-in for all types of clearance within the contest of MOEFCC and SEIAA.

  • PARIVESH e-governance offers the solid groundwork for Performance improvement, pumps sustainable development, economic growth, and efficiency of the entire appraisal process.
  • It also provides a single-window, hassle-free environment, and proper workflow to the processing authorities of district, state, and central level clearances.
  • The access and interface to Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing data facilitates and enables the authorities/Appraisal Committee to evaluate the proposal more efficiently. The SMS and email systems at each level of the hierarchy and important stages to check for the status of the application and officers involved in its processing.
  • PARIVESH gives citizens the transparency required, for processing their proposal/application with ease of interface and complete governance over the application submitted.
